Oakland Chamber of Commerce

Come Grow With Us!

We're not the Oakland you remember from just a few years ago! We are a growing, thriving community of people and businesses that have found their ideal home in West Tennessee, close enough to the big city advantages of Memphis, but without the disadvantages of high taxes, traffic headaches, and high crime.  In The Memphis Business Journal's "Book f Lists 2010", Oakland once again placed #1 as the Fastest Growing Community in West Tennessee, with a whopping 207% population growth over the past five years. Inside these pages, you'll find information on our community, what we have to offer, and information for new residents moving into Oakland. Browse along the tabs at the top to find more information about the Chamber, city & county services, economic development and our community.

Need help finding local businesses? Look in our membership directory, located by clicking on the above tab, and you'll find hundreds of businesses that are here everyday, and a part of our strong and growing business community.

Come Grow With Us!

SHOP BETTER. SHOP LOCAL!

Hey, there, residents of Oakland and Fayette County! Do you want to be a BETTER shopper? Then spend your dollars at local businesses, and help your community with every dollar that you spend. Revenues from local option sales taxes keep our local taxes low, and are used to pay for OUR schools, OUR roads, and OUR police and fire departments. So this holiday, give the gift that truly keeps on giving--be a BETTER Shopper & SHOP LOCAL!

OAKLAND CHAMBER TO SPONSOR FREE SEMINAR FOR EXISTING BUSINESSES ON FEBRUARY 8 The Oakland Regional Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with TVA Economic Development, will be hosting a free seminar on Monday evening, Feb. 8, to teach existing businesses in our community how to use competitive marketing information to gain a better understanding of their specific trade area market. S & P Coffee Café has agreed to support this endeavor by allowing the Chamber to host the seminar at the café after regular business hours. The seminar will be from 5 p.m. to approximately 7 p.m., with a break at 6 p.m. to allow everyone to take advantage of ordering a great supper from S & P Coffee Café! There is no cost to attend the seminar, and it is open to any business owner or person interested in our Oakland and Fayette County business community.  The training session will be taught by Chuck Marquis, Economic Development specialist with TVA. Specific topics will include: What is my trade area? What are the opportunities in my trade area? How does this information impact my product/service mix? Can this trade area really support my business? What are the largest lifestyle segments and how might I use that information? How do I market to the households in my trade area? Information in the seminar is designed for existing business owners, potential new business owners, community leaders and those involved with community economic development. Although there is no charge to attend, seating is somewhat limited. The Chamber requests that interested persons contact the Chamber at 466-0286 for reservations.

Keep checking our Community Calendar (under the "Community" tab above) for our upcoming events!
